Study in the UK.

I wanted to help students who could not study abroad learn a language in a foreign environment. That is what I wanted to do. I wanted to build a camp in Japan, which could be reached by bus, where students could immerse themselves in English from morning to night, and to create a foreign environment where they could learn about foreign culture and history while sleeping there. This was the beginning of "British Hills," which opened in 1994.

I immediately started looking for a place. I think we looked at about 10 places, mainly in Gunma and Nagano. There were places with good conditions, but they were small, only about 30,000 square meters. Foreign countries are huge, aren't they? A sense of size and scale is also important. And then I came across land in Shirakawa, which had 170,000 tsubo, so I thought it would be a good choice.

I want Japanese people to be able to understand foreign cultures better. I want Japanese people to be able to understand foreign cultures not by judging them by their appearance but by their spirituality. That is why I created British Hills. I want to educate people about the importance of culture, but I don't want to just impart knowledge; I wanted to provide a place where people can naturally feel and learn through experience.
