In high school, I spent my days immersed in soccer. I was not good at studying and had no particular goals for the future, so I planned to find a job after graduation. However, if I did not have any weapons, I could not expect to have a successful career after graduation. I changed my mind and enrolled in Kanda Institute of Languages to make language my weapon of choice. I chose Spanish because it has the largest population of speakers after English and Chinese, and I thought it would provide me with many opportunities to be useful. At the end of my first year, I went on a two-week trip to Spain to test my Spanish skills. I was very happy when the local people understood my Spanish properly as we toured the cities of Madrid and Barcelona. It made me want to study more and travel to other countries. Of course, my English skills improved over the two years. I gained confidence in myself. After graduation, I will work for a global integrated logistics company. Eventually, I would like to work at a branch office in a Spanish-speaking country, such as Mexico. I am excited about the prospect of teaching soccer to local children.

The most memorable experience in my two years of study was studying abroad in Spain, where I spent a month at the end of my first year taking Spanish classes with other students from various countries at the University of Salamanca, which is affiliated with Kanda Institute of Languages. Classes are divided according to proficiency level, and I asked a local teacher to enroll me in a higher level class than I should have been. I decided to take advantage of this opportunity to study the language in a more rigorous environment. By the end of my stay, I had become accustomed to the conversational speed of native speakers and was able to enjoy conversing with them. On the other hand, when studying English, I was conscious of outputting the words and phrases I had learned. Immediately after class, I would use the phrases I had just learned in chatting with the teacher. The secret to improving my English is to use them without fear of making mistakes.
After graduation, I found a job at a travel agency where I could put my language skills to good use. Immediately after joining the company, I was engaged as a management staff member for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Guiding Spanish-speaking athletes in the athletes' village is a memory that will stay with me forever. Currently, I belong to the Corporate Sales Department, where I help customers enjoy comfortable travel. In addition to applying for visas for overseas travel and preparing travel manuals, I sometimes escort clients and manage their itineraries. The other day, I escorted a company on a trip to Hawaii. The language skills I acquired at Kanda Institute of Languages are proving useful. Looking back, it has been the most enjoyable two years. Next, it is your turn.
