- Only students from designated schools as defined by Kanda Institute of Languages may apply for this entrance examination method.Please contact your high school's guidance office or the Admissions & Communication Department at Kanda Institute of Foreign Languages to find out if your high school is a designated school.

METHOD 3

- The School Recommendation Examination is an entrance examination method in which you receive a recommendation from your principal and apply for admission. The recommendation is based on your past efforts. You can apply as long as you meet one of the several recommendation criteria, such as your academic performance and qualifications. This is the recommended application method for those who want to further develop their past efforts and realize their dreams after entering Kanda Gaikogakuin.

- The self-recommendation entrance examination is an entrance examination method in which applicants nominate themselves. This entrance examination method is recommended for applicants who have a background of hard work in something or who have a unique background and who will contribute to increasing the diversity of Kanda Institute of Languages after enrollment. Applicants must have a strong desire and motivation to study at Kanda Institute of Languages.

- General Entrance Examination
- The General Entrance Examination is an application process that allows applicants to apply to more than one school. Combined application means applying to several schools such as universities and junior colleges in addition to Kanda Institute of Languages. If you are taking the general entrance examination, you can wait for the results of the other schools before deciding where to enroll. It is also possible to decline acceptance to Kanda Institute of Languages. This entrance examination method is recommended for those whose first choice is a university.

- Kanda University of International Studies
- The Kanda University of Foreign Languages Concurrent Application Preferential Entrance Examination is an application process for applicants who have applied to Kanda University of Foreign Languages, a sister school of Kanda Institute of Foreign Languages. There is no examination fee, and the application is completed by simply entering the required information on the web application site (no documents are mailed). If your application to Kanda University of Foreign Studies is not successful, this is the recommended entrance examination method for those who wish to transfer from Kanda Institute of Foreign Studies to the third or second year of Kanda University of Foreign Studies.

- Special Entrance Examination for International Students
- The Special Entrance Examination for International Students is an entrance examination method for those who currently hold a college student visa or are eligible to obtain a college student visa. If you are enrolled in a designated Japanese language school or have a high level of Japanese language proficiency, you may be eligible for a tuition reduction or exemption. For details, please refer to the application guideline 2024 or contact the Admissions & Communication Department of Kanda Institute of Languages.

- For all entrance examination methods (except the general entrance examination), it is possible to receive a reduction or exemption of the examination fee or entrance fee, etc. (or both) depending on the application period.
