言語教育のスペシャリストを育てる

本大学院では、言語でコミュニケーションを行うとはどのようなことか、母語以外の言語でコミュニケーションを行うことは、母語の場合とどのように異なるのかという根本的な問いに立脚し、言語教育のあるべき姿について、理論と実践から迫ります。グローバル化が進み、第二言語、第三言語の習得の重要性が増している中、新しい時代の多様なニーズを踏まえた言語指導技術や教材の開発も急務になっています。

Nurturing Specialists in Language and Language Education
The question "What is language?" is one that leads us to examine what it means to be human. The graduate programs explore the structures and systems of language, including language sounds, vocabulary, meaning, grammar, and their functions, as well as issues of communication in foreign languages and how they are taught from theoretical and practical perspectives. As the world becomes more globalized and the importance of learning a second and third language increases, there is an urgent need to develop language teaching techniques and materials. In response to these trends, the Graduate School of Language and Linguistic Sciences aims to foster educators capable of playing a leading role in English and Japanese language education in junior and senior high schools as well as other settings. The Master's Program offers two majors, one in Japanese Linguistics and the other in English Linguistics, with the goals of developing specialists in each language and in language education.

人間の言語知識と運用能力の解明、

本研究科は、日本語学専攻とMA TESOL Program（TESOL学位プログラム）からなる博士前期課程（修士課程）と言語科学専攻の博士後期課程（博士課程）からなり、日本語学専攻では?日本語および日本語教育にかかわる高度な研究および教育を行っており、英語学専攻においては、幅広い専門知識?指導法を教授しています。いずれの専攻も、その分野で優れた業績をもつ教授陣のもと、少人数のクラスできめ細かな教育が行われています。

Toward the enhancement of human language knowledge, practical ability, and communicative language education
The Graduate School consists of a Master's Program in Japanese Linguistics, an MA TESOL Program (TESOL degree program), and a Doctoral Program in Linguistic Science. The Department of Japanese Language and Linguistics conducts advanced research and education related to the Japanese language and Japanese language education, while the Department of English Language and Linguistics focuses on a wide range of specialized knowledge and teaching methods. Both majors offer small class sizes and engaging courses by professors with outstanding achievements in their respective fields.

言語科学研究科は、建学の理念「言葉は世界をつなぐ平和の礎」に基づき、言語科学の観点から行われる言語研究、言語教育研究、コミュニケーション研究によって、人間理解、国際?異文化交流を促進し、社会と世界の平和と発展に寄与することを教育理念としています。この理念に立ち、人間の知的活動および社会的活動の基礎である言語（主に日本語と英語）と言語教育?言語コミュニケーションに関わる諸科学を理論と実態、理論と実践を結びつけ多角的に考究することを通して、専門職に必要な高度な知識と能力、広い視野と多様性への理解に基づく総合的思考力と判断力、高い倫理性と強い責任感、地球社会の調和?共存に貢献しうる実践力とコミュニケーション能力を有する人材を育成します。

MA TESOL Program Policies

ティーチング?アシスタント制度

本学の学部または大学院での教育補助業務を行います。ティーチング?アシスタントは大学院生の研究指導を担当する教員の指示に従い、教員が担当する学部または大学院修士課程の学生に対する講義、実習、演習、試験等での教育補助業務を行います。
この経験を通して、将来の研究者、指導者としての素質を養うことを目的としています。

● 本学大学院の博士課程後期に在学している者または修士課程に在学し、学業成績優秀かつ、教育補助業務を遂行する能力?適性を有する者からの選抜です。
● 1週間当たり5時間の勤務を基準とすることが条件です。
● ティーチング?アシスタントには、勤務に応じて月給が支給されます。
※ティーチング?アシスタントには任期があります。
