This program is under the International Communication Major of the Faculty of Foreign Languages. Students further improve their Japanese language on top of the curriculum of the International Communication Major.

*The program is only for international students and university-level Japanese proficiency is required. International students seeking admission to this department are required to sit for the Special Entrance Examination for International Students.

Financial Support

KUIS offers a scholarship (50% of the normal tuition fee) for students in this program. Students with excellent academic performances are also eligible for more scholarship opportunities.

  • Dormitories (female students only)

    The Makuhari-Hongo International Dormitory (female students only) is conveniently located just a 7-minute walk from Makuhari-Hongo Station, with supermarkets and convenience stores nearby.

  • Apartments & Guarantor Support

    Renting an apartment in Japan usually requires a guarantor, which can be challenging for international students. At KUIS, the university can act as your guarantor when you use our partner real estate agency and enroll in the required insurance program, making the process smooth and worry-free.

  • Visa Support

    Most international students need to obtain their visa during their time in Japan. KUIS provides clear guidance sessions and support you in preparing and submitting the necessary application documents.

International students enrolled in this program are eligible to apply for financial aid, including three types of scholarship programs offered by KUIS.

The scholarship programs are not available to students receiving scholarships from their home governments or from the Japanese government, or to students who are not promoted to the next academic year.
